Layette opened in the winter of 2012. Since then, we have focused on providing timeless, high quality children’s clothing, accessories and gifts to the discerning Dallas shopper and emphasized our commitment to customer service. Layette carries well-made, classic clothing, accessories and premium products for both special occasions and everyday for children birth to eight years plus. Custom monogramming and personalized gifts are also available.
Ailsa Ellis
Ailsa Ellis, the stylish mother of a teenage son, who will no longer let her dress him, is the owner and operator of Layette. Ailsa is a Hockaday graduate, has a BA from Rhodes College and an MA from SMU. She is actively involved in the Parents Club of St. Mark’s School of Texas. She and her family live in Highland Park. One of her greatest joys is picking next season’s selection at both Dallas and New York Markets (and pretending that her son Cam is still small enough to wear them).

Amy Turgeon
Amy Turgeon is our resident Southern Belle – a transplant from New Orleans. She brings class, joy and a love of heirloom clothing to us. Amy is the mastermind behind our beautiful window displays. Her touch is seen in the elegant staging and in the whimsical details – like hanging beach balls or a unicorn playing piano. Amy is crossing her fingers that her grown children will one day make her a grandmother. She has already picked out her grandmother name – just call her “Pickles!”

Caitlin Taylor
Caitlin Taylor keeps us all up and running! She is great at remembering special occasions, who wears what size and what a child needs for each season. Caitlin picks each and every book carried at Layette and does an amazing job of curating a diverse and unique collection. Caitlin has a BFA in Theatre and will always be able to accompany our musically geared clients in singing the newest Disney soundtrack. Ask Caitlin about her adorable niece Rowan and you will win her heart!

Jenny Lichty
Jenny Lichty is our Instagram expert! She is a photo taker and stager extraordinaire and if you have ordered from our insta feed, Jenny is most likely the sweet one that helped you (if you haven’t, check her work out at @layette_dallas). Jenny also brings her experience as a Mom of two fantastic teenage girls (and yes, she misses dressing them in matching bubbles) to curating our fantastic and fun toy collection. Also, her love of the Pioneer Woman and Ina will help you out if you are at a loss for what to cook for dinner – just ask Jenny!
